As there’s still a regular influx of people after some of the best in unsigned rock, thought it was worth-while posting again to let all you new-comers know that I’m now co-hosting one of the biggest + best music podcasts, TPN Rock, alongside Ewan Spence.

We put out 4 shows a week between us, and it’s giving some awesome exposure to bands + artists, a lot more than I was able to do with the Unsigned Rock Podcast. If you’re liking the shows here, the format is no different now I produce TPN Rock, so don’t worry!

Although it’s been over a month now, I’m still looking at producing occasional shows here, but make sure you head over to TPN Rock or grab the RSS feed for your podcatcher (such as iTunes) to listen over the latest shows I produce!

Have no fear, only the title + theme music are different!

As I’ve been hinting at for a while, things are a changin’! Those with good memories will remember when I met up with Ewan Spence at The Des Moines Riot’s gig back at the end of June, and here we are! I’m continuing as normal with two podcasts a week on a Monday + Thursday, so you won’t even have your routine changed a bit, but you’ll also get even more music from Ewan on a Tuesday + Friday. Surely you can’t argue with double the music, and still for free?!

I’m very excited about working alongside Ewan and on The Podcast Network, as it will give a lot more exposure to the bands + artists getting played. For you lot, there shouldn’t be a difference - listen to the show and it’s still 5 tracks, no adverts, and 25-30 minutes long! I’m not anticipating that changing one bit!

The Unsigned Rock Podcast will continue, though less regularly - probably when I have an overflow of music I just can’t wait to get played, or if I have some live tracks from a gig. Keep subscribed to the feed, doesn’t cause any harm, and you’ll get any new shows as they come out! Of course, to listen to the shows I’ll be doing twice a week on TPN Rock and Ewan’s shows, head over to TPN Rock and subscribe to the feed there (I know some of you probably already are!).

Our new webhost

Well, that was fun! The current webhost the Unsigned Rock Podcast sits on is due to expire at the end of October. It’s actually piggy-backed off fouldsy.com as when I first started, I didn’t want to fork out extra money for webhosting, but have been meaning to move it for a while now. With grumbles about pretty much every webhosting company depending on who you talk to, I went with GoDaddy as their packages looked good, and I have a number of domains through them already. A nice little touch though was that once the webhosting was added to my account, they updated the records for all my domains to point to the new server, causing havoc on a few sites I run! Nice, eh?

Have got things up + running now after uploading all the data to the new server and creating the database, and all the RSS feeds and iTunes links haven’t changed, nor has my e-mail - I made sure they were host-independant from the start, so there’s nothing you nice people need to do, except maybe change any bookmarks you had It’s all now directly running from www.unsignedrockpodcast.com - I’ll look at setting up redirection from the old links to direct posts in a bit to help those MySpace-rs out there!

All being well, I’ve got a cracking podcast lined up for tomorrow, so get yer finger ready on the ‘Play’ button and have the volume control ready to be cranked up!

Yep, thanks to last week’s voting on the Unsigned Rock Podcast 1-Track Shoot-Out, New York-based ‘The Baghdaddios’ are back! Their track Neil’s in Rehab won comfortably with 470 votes. So, here’s the track again, a really cool interview with the guys (it was well gone midnight for me when we recorded this!) plus one more track chosen by the guys from the band - Piece of Mine!

Here’s the voting for Thursday’s track, The Influence - Bluestone. Get your votes in quick - you only have 4 days after the track is played to make your vote count! Remember, at the end of the week, whichever band has the most votes gets their track re-played, I do an with interview them, and the band gets to pick another track to play!

NOTE: As quite a few folks from within the same school/college/office were unable to vote, IP-based voting was lifted. I can track incoming voters, and the times voting is done. Multiple votes from a single person makes fouldsy sad. Don’t do it, or the votes will get knocked off and the band you’re trying to support suffers.
